problem:
Ever since I’ve updated my launcher to 1.8 I can’t seem to start up my game. The game crashes whilst in the loading screens, making it impossible for me to join the game. I’ve already updated my java but that doesn’t solve the problem. Pleace give me feedback on how to solve this problem.

Hi, the game is still using Java 6, which is why you are crashing.
First, try re-install Java 8.
If that doesn’t work, you can follow this guide on how to remove Java 6:
I tried it several times but it doesn’t seem to work.
Either you haven’t installed Java 8 successfully, or you haven’t removed Java 6 successfully.
9/10 times it’s the former, you shouldn’t normally have to remove the old version.
Try open a new Terminal window and type java -version, and paste the response here (this might give you a popup inviting you to install Java 8, which you should follow)
Alright it said the following:

Perhaps when you thought you were updating your Java to version 8, you were actually just updating your Java 6 version (from say Java 6.1 to 6.2 etc).
