In-game crash - glass panes

Problem:
Was flying around in Mithlond, set my render distance further and whenever I rendered a certain point got the linked crash.

This is an issue with Connected Textures (in Optifine).

For what-ever reason, it’s crashing when checking glass panes to see if they can connect to their neighboring blocks.

You’re using OptiFine_1.8.9_HD_U_H6_pre (_pre = preview) - there is a newer, non-preview version available for 1.8.9 (ie OptiFine_1.8.9_HD_U_H6)

Could you try this latest version of optifine and see it this area still crashes you? The report says the block in question is at location (-5744,46,-344).

Still crashing though took longer to do so in the same location.

I’ve located the point in the code where the crash is coming from, and have written a little mod that injects some safety checks to avoid it occurring.

Just drop it in your mods/1.8.9 folder and you should be good.

Seems to have worked, flying around the same area for 10 minutes gets no crashes, should probably include it in the modpack.

Does this mean that I still need to fix the CTM or not?

If it’s one of the ctms that spits out errors in the logs then yeah, at some point.

You don’t need to delete it completely (as we discussed on gitter) though.
