Progress since last meeting:

Folde - Nameless

All the roads are now fixed, I have found a few spots for potential mills and one has been started.

After that it is work on the Snowbourne which has been started by whee but not finished.

Folde Iron mine - LmaoGetBodied

Started working on the interior of the tunnels and created the iron layers and expanded the block pallet. Anglo Saxon style for the mine. The surroundings will be done as well but we need to lay them out first.

Westemnet - Darkkiryll

The Entwade Ford, town and surrounding pastures have been finished. All Homesteads except homestead 8 have been claimed, as that homestead is a bog iron HS waiting for the bogs to be done. Homestead 7 is done and the rest have been making solid progress.

Camp Revamp - LucPoppel

Cleaned up all old eastemnet camps. Fixing the numbers for all tents and camp population atm and will have this done before the meeting.

All camps are now open to the public as individual tents people can build.

Shire Revamp - eaglz and kingorrik

Shire going well, md progressed very nicely, we are proud of everyone helping

MD will hopefully be finished in the next few weeks as we work on finishing touches, after that we’ll begin on tuckborough. Meanwhile bog has been working on finishing needlehole and nobottle, whilst reworking the GER with hearth

Completion date of the Shire has been pushed back to February/March 2021

Caras Galadhon - Neverlegendary & MrBanana

So since last meeting we’ve been able to open the trees of section4, which are being done pretty quickly. As always, many thanks to Marcel, Danoir and Marchuell for their incredible help. There’s no hurry to get them done and they can be completed at their own pace while we focus on ground stuff. Neverlegendary is back to work on the ditch and wall and he is in desperate need for help, so please send some. As for myself, I’ve been doing the roots of the trees in section3, which should be done pretty soon and the layering around them will be an open project to whoever is willing to do it. Detailing of the terrain of section3 and the gate area has also started, thanks to some external reinforcements. Getting the groundwork of section3 completed in a month should be a realistic objective

Glittering Caves - Decorated

Doesn’t look like Decorated will be working on these any further so they will go on hold for now. I’ve received a schematic with his latest work on them today, so I’ll take a look at that and try to port it on to the server.

Cardolan Forts and Ruins

Yannig and Ytsen have been planning Tharbad however there is still a lot of work to be done before it’s ready to be opened.

Moria Planning - Guan/Soap

Nothing to say on Moria - remains on hold

Dunland - Dak/Fruit

With the homesteads finally being completed Dunland’s gone into a private phase where we’ll work our way through the to-do list with a select few, we’re first gonna do the Lumber areas and forests, after which we’ll start doing other nature stuff with Darth, like bogs etc. From then on we’re also gonna have researching the Isengard Tribe as a side-focus. Meanwhile creepy is researching/planning out the North Tribe, I expect that he’ll be able to start building somewhere in the upcoming week. Plan is to plan out the Isengard Tribe in full before opening it, so that we don’t need project applications, this plan is subject to change when we actually reach it tho.

Darnok/ix are continuing work on Thror’s Hall in Exile - need advice on how to ruin it.

Even tho we’re doing private stuff rn, anyone can still feel free to ask us if they can help.

Eryn Vorn - Kemce

Progress is being made. The settlements are almost finished and then it is just nature work for me to do, like cliffs and caves.

Fangorn - Lind

There hasn’t been much progress in Fangorn since the last meeting, just a few Ent houses. I’ve mostly put the project on hold until we get some other things closed

Technical Updates:

  • No major news on CR 1.15/16 though development continues.
  • Positive news from Sponge devs which was announced today - usable vanilla Sponge builds for 1.15 by the end of this year, and updating Sponge from 1.15 to 1.16 will be considerably easier than the update to 1.15. Sponge Forge may take a little longer.
  • New website backgrounds
  • Fresh is working on a new homepage
  • Added Jenkins back - https://ci.ardacraft.io/ for those who want jars of some of our plugins

WorldPainter News:

  • Final Eriador section released
  • Isen section sent to whee
  • Lots of progress in Gondor

Other news/ Discussion:

  • Darkkiryll now Overseer, replacing Micah.
  • Too many projects?
    • Westemnet progress has improved a lot since Dark took over. Folde is being wrapped up under Nameless. No new regions will be opened until Folde, Westemnet, Caras and Dunland are wrapped up.
  • No Landscaper apps
    • People should make it clearer to guests that Landscaper is an option
  • Eaglz beginning work on Anorien document
    • Contribute whatever you can on the research discord

Progress since last meeting:

Tree Grid - Argent and HFranz

Work continues on mossing trees, not many left to go.

Work will begin on the remaining ivy trees after this.

Regular extra thin trees are complete. Next Franz plans to make a set of mossy then begin mass replicating for each species.

Argent is working on poplars and other species needed for Gondor.

At some point soon there will be a rework to coniferous trees! The update to CR could be released this month.

Moria - Guan/Sunwing

18th hall area: Almost done, final stretch.

11 houses, Lekhvir’s hall needs to be finished, the 18th hall, and two corridors.

The Canal is needed as well, but that should be a relatively easy build day where WE can be used quite a lot. It shouldn’t be too challenging.

We are in the final stretch, we can do this!

18th Hall Hub - Marcel

Since last meeting, the Forging Complex and the Broadbeams Housing Halls have been finished except for some house interiors. All that’s left now is to finish the ruining in the 18th hall and 2 other housing halls as well as the canal.

North End - Sunwing

The build day today has seen us get a few bits underway. It’s being run slightly differently to the 18th Hall section, with lots of different epochs and materials being used, so please check out the building guidance Sun has posted in the Moria North thread on Discord, and if anyone has any questions, please DM Sun.

The West-march - Fruit, Lind and Wurst

Macheldun has progressed very quickly, thanks to encouragement from Lomes and Wurst. We are planning to open a few other projects soon, including Hamlet 4 under Niki, which should open in the next day or two, Village 3 under Sunwing, which is being planned out, and Homesteads 6 and 7 under HFranz. If anyone is interested in leading another homestead, hamlet or village, please write in the West-March thread.

Anórien - Argent and Darnok

Anorien, while still in its planning phase, is speeding up each day as the team pushes through the remaining sections of the rural guide.

As the rural guide closes out, the outskirts of Lisclorn will enter their planning phase in time for a hopeful opening in mid December.

Early next year the plan is to import a vegetated Anorien, with OneCores new White mountains, which will lead the way to villages and homesteads being opened for application alongside the new field boundaries.

In addition, there is now a Gondor Rural Repository (/warp RuralRepo) which is intended to be a library for smaller rural stuff that can be used in other builds, things like pens, sheds, shelters, etc. All builders and apprentices are welcome to build there, and ask if more plots are needed. Most of the information needed can be found in the rural guide, but ask Darnok if you have more questions.

Lots to look forward to, and the team definitely appreciates the patience as they finalize the planning and guides that will make Gondor flow quite quickly in the future.

Minas Tirith - Eag and Wheellee

Whee and eag have resumed private work to prepare in advance for mt re-opening next year. Their work has so far consisted of consolidating previous designs in line with what’s been done in the rest of anorien. Some new street designs and a bath complex have been plotted in north mt which they plan on opening first. Apart from that, their main goal next year will be to focus primarily on infrastructure whilst opening some districts on the side. Guides including the gradient guide will be set up in time for this to happen. Expect a lot of public work in MT next year as the city gets into full swing.

Technical Updates:

  • Big welcome to AJ - he has already been a huge help.
  • Modpack update aimed for this month - AJ’s paintbrush, AJ’s skybox work, update to CR which will include new coniferous leaves + bugfixes, and potentially some new music as well.
  • FAWE now added and mostly working - Jay is working on bugfixes and layering tools.

WorldPainter/AC 2.0 News:

  • Micah’s very cool map - Micah Vander Lugt - Middle-earth

  • Gondor Planning - Rota will be working on the farm planning from tonight onwards.

  • WorldPainter - since the last meeting, Fornad has imported the new Umbar section courtesy of Lutherkirche, and now the Harad desert is being worked on. In addition, he plans to release a forested version of Anorien and Lossarnach in March.

  • Landscaping discord - this is for posting inspiration for various regions similar to the Gondor discord. Please join and contribute if you have any ideas!

  • Survival server - every second Sunday each month
  • We’ve not had many events recently but we’re aiming to fix that. Jes is planning some stuff for Christmas.
