Hey TurtleMobile, thanks for applying for ArdaCraft.
We need you to build something lotr related. Therefore I will give you a challenge:
Build a middle-class house in the style of ./warp folcmund.
Family of 6
Profession: Potter
Make a garden with some vegetables and stuff for the profession.
There is a building guide at Folcmund as well as plenty of house examples. Take your time and good luck. Update this application with new screenshots when you are done.
You’ve done a pretty good job here and its obvious that you have taken a look at Rohan’s style before building your own house. One piece of criticism is that the house is very big making it feel very spacious on the inside and a little bland on the outside.
Could you have a go at building a Lothlorien house? These can be found at /warp LV(number). They are quite challenging so take your time and try to make it as good as you can. Hopefully when you do this we can promote you to apprentice.
Another completed building, I realized it would be much to large as a house and have dubbed it the Elven meet and eat. It’s again on the same plot. https://imgur.com/a/vmcWZIw
The elven build is not looking bad, you clearly have spent some time studying the style. A few notes. I think you don’t have the overlay working correctly, since the ivory pillar should look way differently. The porch you did on the side of the house feels a bit too big and seems like it has no purpose since you left it empty; the roof also looks strange, it’s kind of flat towards where it meets the main roof of the house. Interior might need some work as well, but since you have no access to paintings there’s not that much you can do, where you placed the beds you may place traces of someone actually living there (some clothes, a chest, etc), and most importnat, add some flowers and fallen leaves on the ground.
If you have time, I’d suggest you to try a house in lv3 style, which is a bit more tricky.
