Why do you want to help with this project?: I have a general interest in Middle Earth and love the level of detail and background you guys are putting into the world. I’ll be honest I’m a pretty new builder and am coming here more as a middle earth fan than a Minecraft veteran, but with a little guidance I believe I could learn.
Which Tolkien-related works have you read, seen or listened to?: Read the Hobbit & Lotr trilogy and am trying to get through the Silmarillion. Saw all of the films.
Plot ID: Started some new builds at 12:-16 and 13:-16. (Dunland and Rohan(Folde))
Are there any styles that you excel at? Any styles which you have difficulty with?: I prefer Rohan or Dunland and any tribal/celtic/iron age style peoples really. Would like to learn dwarven. Willing to learn anything though.
I can’t speak for what you have built on our server as I haven’t checked it out yet, although I will as soon as possible, however when it comes to the builds in your Imgur album… they’re not really what we’re looking for. I’d suggest checking out the guides we have ingame for a better idea of how your builds should look.
I can see that you grasped some concepts that we use for Dunland and Rohan but your choice of palette is very odd and far from our standards. I would too suggest checking the guides and have a stroll through the towns and villages.
Just some progress of builds based on feedback. Open to more input, for some reason the screenshots are uploading dark as fuck so might be better to just view it at the plot in game if you want to critique.
I will say these are decent, but there’s a few things to fix up. For example, your roofs need a gradient rather than just splattered light and brown thatch. Also, some of your Dunland houses are a bit oddly-shaped, but that shouldn’t matter too much, as all the houses are pre-built. I’d like you to try a Hobbit house like those at Rushey , and you’ll be ready for Apprentice.
