Eurotrip

I’ll check with my co-leader to see if it’s ok. Heck, if you’re going down to the Southwest straight afterwards we could just drop you off in Exeter.

I think Google maps might have deceived you there - that would be around 4 days of hard walking at least. You could do it, but I’d just take a bus or a train. If you want to go walking, you could follow the coastal path and head east or west from Tintagel.

In terms of festivals, you’re getting too fixated on Halloween - you’ll be in the UK for Bonfire Night on Nov 5th! You could make your way down to Ottery St Mary in Devon for the Tar Barrels festival.

One can never be too fixated on the great skeleton war.

Does look like it would be fun to burn so effigies tho.

I’m thinking I’ll skip the Southwest this trip. Save it for another time, there’s a lot more to the highlands and Northeast of Scotland that I think i’d like to see this time round. So I’ll just head North again on the 30th if we do the trip. There may not be anyt

Just let me know about the 28-30th so I can plan ahead for that. That way I can buy advance Bus tickets and save a lot of cash.

Edit: As far as advance Bus tickets, looks like it would only be about £32 to take a bus down from Mallaig to Worcester, and about £22 to take one from Worcester back to Mallaig on the 31st, Halloween. So maybe I would have an extra day to see the puzzlewood.

@Fornad Think I’ll actually be skipping out on the hiking trip down south this time. I think I might want to head up the east coast as far North as Cape Wrath and maybe head to Cairngorms if i get the time. Plus it saves me some time/money on Transport and makes things less confusing for me. I’m working on a rough planned route that i’ll post in this thread later this week.

Wouldn’t be doing my job if I didn’t big-up the ol’ WhiteRose county.

Update lads. Made my way through Loch Lomond and into Glencoe. Staying here for a good few days before I head back to Fort William. For a number of reasons I’m cutting my time short and heading back on Oct. 26th. I might head South early and stay in Edinburgh for a few days and do normal tourist stuff as well.

Update no.2 if you UK lads haven’t been to the Glencoe area yet, then you’re missing out. Of everything I’ve seen so far the three sisters alone make this trip worth taking.
